Body of posting: Hi Everyone,

Today is the tenth anniversary of the first posting on the aeromed-list: HAPPY BIRTHDAY AEROMED-LIST!!

During this period we've seen several different servers and various changes to how the list runs but one thing that has remained constant throughout this decade is the excellence of the contributions made by the members of the list. I am regularly amazed at the depth and breadth of knowledge and experience that we find among our membership. I have also been very pleased with the tact, common sense, and diplomacy with which list members have made valuable contributions on sometimes sensitive issues.

We did manage a small birthday celebration (along with a birthday donut and ten candles) at Orlando recently.

I'd like to take this opportunity to again thank everyone for their wonderful support and their many contributions. I'd also like to thank Bill Mitchell and ETC for their unobtrusive sponsorship and support during much of our ten years.

It has been a great pleasure to be able to work with all of you on the aeromed-list for the last ten years. Your collective contribution has, IMHO, been a great benefit to the world of aviation / aerospace medicine.

Thank you everyone,
Dougal

Hi folks,

I think thirteen counts as a critical mass of some sort - the list now has thirteen members and I just wanted to welcome you all. There's a few names I know and recognise and who I know we can rely on for wise counsel on any aeromedical issues that might pop-up.

The listserver software appears to be glitch free but please do forgive us if any problems develop in these initial stages.

I also expect this venue to be pretty quiet until our numbers swell (I expect a hundred or so members within the next few days - it's only a half day old now) by then I expect / hope we will have a useful electronic forum to discuss aeromedical issues. If you have any aeromedical problems or questions please mail the list. If your problems are with the management or function of the list please email me.

Great to have you on-board
Dougal
